Report a Found Object and Hand Over to Reception

Factually report an unattended personal object—specifically a telephone—found in room 101, 102, or 201 to the reception desk, state where it was found without guessing ownership or inspecting private contents, and complete a handover confirmation under the fictional property's lost-property procedure.

Fixed Past Expression (Ho trovato):

To report finding something, use the conversational past form Ho trovato (I found), followed by the item and the room:

Ho trovato un telefono nella camera centouno. (I found a phone in room 101.)

Handover Formula (Consegno... alla reception):

When you step up to the front desk to pass the item to a colleague, say Consegno (I hand over):

Consegno questo telefono alla reception. (I hand this phone over to reception.)

If a guest claims the item in the corridor:

If a guest says “Quello è il mio telefono!” (That is my phone!), don't hand it over yourself. Send them to reception: Vada alla reception, per favore (Please go to reception).
