Serving food makes you a food handler. Spain abolished the old food handler card in 2010, but food hygiene training is still required.

Required by lawSince 2010 there is no official food handler card (carné de manipulador) in Spain. Instead, EU law makes the employer responsible for training food handlers in hygiene, and employers must be able to show that training at official inspections. Many job ads still ask for a food handler certificate, so having one can help.
